My favorite books to write are those where characters challenge me. When I set out to write The Simple Wild, I knew Wren’s choices and mistakes would be difficult to forget, but I hoped readers could find space to forgive him by the end. North Country posed an even bigger challenge given the mistakes Logan made, the tragedy he was a part of, and all the lives he impacted. North Country is a story about redemption and second chances, but also about finding grace and how little of it society has to offer.

I hope you enjoyed your time with the Landry family as much as I did while writing this story.
