Under the Same Stars(99)
Scout Webber, I adore you for sharing your dating shenanigans. You keep me young.
And the rest of the Webbers! I am so obsessed with and in love with and proud of our family; I would never be able to do this without you. Stone Harbor summers will always hold a special place in my heart.
I want to extend an apology to Ross Webber and the other Princetonians in my life: I am sorry I took creative liberties with your eating clubs; I know you don’t “bicker” until your sophomore year, but I really wanted Marco in Tower. Forgive me, won’t you?
Thank you to everyone with ties to the unforgettable Palmer-Schenker wedding. Not only was it a hell of a party, but it was also so wonderful to see all the love, light, and joy that surrounds Madison and Chris. Suzanne, my mouth waters when I daydream about your bridal shower spread, and Delaney, I still think about our Dragonfly Landing weekend and giggle to myself. You successfully herded cats. #Mad4Chris
Madison: I have so loved growing up together, because it means I’ve gotten to watch you become the incredible woman you are today. Whenever you do something extraordinary, I think to myself, That’s my best friend!
A hundred tugs on the sleeve of Josh Walther, the wittiest and coolest and most cherished uncle in all the land (Play with us, play with us, play with us!!!). Thank you for introducing me to NOLA, helping me decide which credit card to apply for, and always making me laugh. I’m glad you agree that the barn would’ve made an excellent office space.
Tibbles. Timmy, you were the best personal assistant an author could ever have; I am so grateful to you for running errands upon errands last year, chauffeuring me all over the place, and cooking dinner every night. And Tommy, thank you for every single piece of financial advice. I feel so unconditionally supported by you both and hope you know the feeling is mutual.
Christopher: I started drafting this book after the stars finally aligned in 2022, and it was a huge challenge…because you made writing a romantic lead nearly impossible. How was any love interest ever going to make me swoon when I had this devastatingly handsome man creating his own algorithm to track my sales? Tell me, how?! I’ll admit Marco managed to make me blush (multiple times), but you are the book boyfriend of my dreams and my absolute favorite person.
The biggest thank-you to my parents, this time for buying a white farmhouse with black shutters and a red door in 2005. Despite the list of renovation projects (the kitchen would’ve been beautiful, had it come to fruition), 6 Old Barn Court (or Sarah’s “Camp Ralph Lauren”) was nothing short of an idyllic backdrop for childhood. The cookouts, campouts, personality-plus dogs, Halloween festivities, street hockey, snow days, sweet treats, lacrosse sticks, laughter, and so much love—thank you, for all of it.
And finally, a love note to my readers: your enthusiasm—or, dare I say, passion—for my characters and their stories truly helps me soar. You have made the KLW Universe possible, and I’m in awe of every single one of you. XO
