West of Forever (Heartstone Ranch #1)(54)

Just like it wasn’t when he took over from my grandad or his grandad before him.

“Dinner was great, pumpkin,” Dad tells Harper.

“Thanks, Daddy.” She leans down and kisses his forehead. “Why don’t you go rest.”

“Nah, I’m too old to rest.” He turns to Sadie. “How about we work on sprucing up the goat pen next?”

Sadie grins. “It would be my pleasure.”

“Good. We’ll use your dad’s credit card this time.”

And I can go work on the field before spending the night at the ridge.

I get to the ridge earlier than I expected. Sadie went to bed early, and I told everyone I was going out for a ride and would see them in the morning.

This isn’t something I do often, but still frequently enough that I didn’t get shit for it.

Well, other than the underhanded comments from my daughter about how nice it is for me to be able to ride.

I beat Lark here and take the time to set up. I lay out the blanket and grab the wine we never drank and the hodgepodge of snacks I grabbed.

I needed to make it look normal.

After about twenty minutes, I hear hoofbeats coming toward the clearing.

Then I see her, long hair flowing behind her as she rides closer before coming to a halt. She removes her hat, her hair tumbling down around her, and she dismounts. She ties off her horse and then walks to me, tossing her hat on the blanket. I do the same and then catch her as she rushes to me.

My arms wrap around her, pulling her up, and her lips are on mine a moment later.

No words.

No greeting.

Just need.

This day has felt like it took double the time. Every minute was like an hour, and it seems she felt it too.

I lift her higher, forcing her to wrap her legs around my hips as I walk us to the blanket.

Her mouth is like fire, stoking me back to life.

As we fall onto the blanket, she lets out a giggle and then grabs my face, kissing me again. After a few seconds, she pushes me onto my back and straddles me, sitting tall and grinning. “Hi.”

“Hi, yourself.”

“Long day for you too?”

I snort a laugh. “You could say that. I ran into this girl earlier who put a huge kink in my plan.”

Lark smiles and shifts, rubbing against my very hard cock. “Oh, tell me about her.”

I grab her hips to stop her. “She’s annoying.”

“Really? Why is that?”

She won’t stop invading my thoughts, for one.

I don’t say that, though. I lead with a more obvious one. “Her family keeps harassing mine.”

Lark laughs softly. “That would be one thing to hold against her, if it were true.”

“Oh, do you know this girl, then?”

She leans down, her arms on each side of my head. “I might.”

“She’s terrible.”

“She’s definitely trouble.”

“That I can agree with,” I say, moving my hand to her neck and sliding it up into her hair. “Maybe you can kiss me until I forget about her.”

Lark moves her face closer, her lips just brushing mine. “I think I can do more than kiss you.”

“Good. I like it when you’re creative.”

She pushes back up. “Me too.”

Her shirt goes over her head before she tosses it to the side.

“No bra,” I say with a grin.

“I figured you’d like efficiency.”

“Creativity and efficiency are definitely winning out right now.”

Lark leans in, kissing me softly before getting to her feet. She undoes the button of her jeans and slides the zipper down. “Get naked, Tristan.”

She’s not going to get an argument from me.

I remove my shirt and pants, and then, as I’m going to get back on the blanket, she lifts her hand. “Stay there.”

“Lark,” I say her name, knowing what she’s up to as she sinks to her knees.

My cock is rock solid, desperate to be inside of her again.

Her smile is full of mischief. “In the name of creativity.” She winks and then takes me in her mouth.

“Fuck,” I groan as she sucks me deep. Her tongue slides along my length. She moves slowly, as though she’s savoring every second of it. Lord knows I am.

I stare down at her, and this beautiful woman on her knees with my dick in her mouth is a sight I’ll never forget.

Her green eyes find mine, and I swear, if she could grin, she’d be doing it right now. She moans around me, going deeper and using her hand to stroke me at the same time. “That’s it, baby, suck it just like that,” I say, forcing my hands to stay at my side.

She releases me, her lips wet, eyes wild as they stare up at me. “Show me.”

This woman is going to be the death of me.

I move my hands to the sides of her head, and she doesn’t waste a second. She sets the pace, and I use every ounce of restraint I have not to move her head to a faster speed.

It feels so good.

Everything about this is so fucking much. The fresh air, the sounds of silence around us, Lark on her knees for me, hell, just being here at all.

The two of us tucked away in some secret part of the world where no one else knows we exist.
