Blood Lands (Savage Lands #5)(46)

Author:Stacey Marie Brown

Images flashed into my mind as it pulled me further into the darkness.

“Am I seeing things, or does that monstrous thing look even more like a python?”

Chiiirrrppp!

“Right?” The familiar voice plucked me from my sleep. “It’s moving… you see it right?”

Chirppppp!

“You touch it! I’m afraid it might actually bite me.”

Lifting my lids, I spotted Opie perched next to Warwick, staring bewildered at the bottom half of his naked physique, his finger out like he was about to poke a snake, while Bitzy’s hands clutched at the air particles, a lazy smile on her face. High as a kite.

I let out a groan, tucking my head back into Warwick’s chest. Our bodies tangled where we passed out after the last time he woke me up.

My mind felt syrupy. Thick and hazy with images and sensations—fucking amazing ones—but something else ticked the back of my mind. Like wisps of fog, I could feel but couldn’t grasp them. Something right out of my reach.

Between the opium and Warwick, I conked out, only to be stirred awake later to him plunging inside me. Only half awake, our bodies rocked deep and slow together, feeling like an erotic dream, sweeping me up in a long unfathomable orgasm, which hit so hard it knocked me out cold again.

“If you touch it,” Warwick muttered, his eyes still closed. “I will bite you. In half.”

Chirrrrrp!

“No, I don’t think he meant it in the good way.” Opie stepped back slightly. “Though you’d think he’d be a little more grateful. He seemed quite happy with where my fingers were earlier.”

Warwick exhaled deeply. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Master Fishy!” Opie bounded over Warwick to me, letting me get a better view of his outfit.

“Is that butcher paper?” I blinked, trying to clear my eyes. Everything felt foggy here; the contact high made everything seem unreal, as if reality was the mirage on the horizon

“Do you like it?” Opie spun. He had made a tiny kimono out of butcher paper, which only reached his hips. It was tied with silk, and he wore a thong in the same embroidered fabric I had seen draped on this bed. His hair was in a high bun with sticks you skewer meat with and poppy buds braided through his beard. Bitzy wore silk bottoms, a tube top in butcher paper, and poppy buds dangling from her ears.

“We got soooo bored waiting for you to wake up.” He patted at his kimono. “I wanted to work the contrast of hard and soft.” His eyes flicked between us. “But I think you guys beat me to it…” He shook his head. “Does that thing ever unstiffen?” He eyed Warwick’s exposed body. “I feel it’s gonna strike at any moment.”

“It’s going to. And if you don’t leave soon, you will see it in action.” Warwick grumbled, running his hand over his face, his other hand squeezing my leg sprawled across him, pulling me over him.

“We’ve been searching nonstop for you! Do you know what we’ve been through to find you?”

Chiiirp! Bitzy hiccupped.

“The detour to pretty boy’s mushroom garden was your idea.”

Chirp, chirp!

“I did not get caught up in his hoover machine for two days! Total lie!”

Chirp! Chiiirrrppp!

“One day! And it was a complete misunderstanding.” Opie stomped his foot, then turned back to me with a huge smile. “We’ve been so worried about you, Fishy!”

Chiiirp.

“Don’t lie. You were worried too.”

Chirp!

“I could tell. It was on the inside.”

Bitzy tried to stick up her middle fingers, but she got distracted by the movement, wiggling them and giggling. Chhhiiirrppp. She sang dreamily, plunking down on her butt, her lids fluttering.

“Honey, the kids are high again,” I joked, sitting up. Reaching down, I grabbed a silk cover off the end of the bed to cover myself, the bottom part cut into strips.

“Say no to drugs, kids.” Warwick still hadn’t moved, laying on his back, no care in the world to who could see every inch of him. I guess with him, why would he want to cover up? The man was a legend in every way.

Chirppp. Bitzy curled one finger up at him as she tipped over, passing out.

“Good talk.” I patted Warwick.

“I tried.” He shrugged, yawning, his eyes finally opened. Scouring his face again, he pushed himself up.

“Watch out! The big bad wolfie is on the prowl!” Opie exclaimed, pretending to shield his eyes, but ogling the legend through his fingers. “That thing could knock out small villages!”

Warwick scoffed, stretching his arms up to the canopy, leaning in toward me. “Shower’s crap here, but at least it will get all the bodily fluids off.” He winked.

“Gross.”

“I meant blood and plasma from the lab.” He lifted a dark brow. “What were you thinking, Kovacs?” He dipped further, his mouth trailing over mine, nipping at my ear. “Think I promised I’d be fucking you in the shower.”

Heat burned my cheeks, sliding down my limbs and between my legs.

“I think you did.”

He took my hand, pulling me up and walking us toward the door. I turned back to my friends.

“No opium or drugs of any kind while we’re gone.” I pointed at Opie. “Especially for that one.” I pointed at Bitzy, her mouth open, snoring.

“No drugs!” He saluted me. “And I will not under no circumstances make this bed… or clean in any way. Nope. I don’t feel any kind of urge at all. Just because it’s disgusting and covered in some crusty stuff I don’t even want to think about. Nope, I won’t touch anything.”

The bed would be made before we left this room.

Warwick walked us through a door leading to a very rudimentary bathroom with open toilets and showers.

Something we were used to.

Turning on the shower, Warwick pushed me against the wall, letting the cold water rain down on us, his physique pressing into mine. Grabbing a bar of soap, his hand glided over my body, rubbing soap over my breasts as his fingers slipped between my folds, not caring about the three other people in the room taking a shower. Their eyes were so dilated and droopy, I didn’t think they’d noticed anything.

Biting down on my lip, my body responded instantly to his touch. I went from needy to desperate in a matter of seconds.

I curved into his hands, craving him. He picked me up, my legs wrapping around him as his cock rubbed through me.

“How—?” I croaked, arms around his neck, my teeth biting and tugging on his bottom lip. “How can I still be this desperate for you?”

“Because…” He hitched me higher, his mouth crushing mine before he continued. “We defy nature, Kovacs. We break every law.” His words hit me as he slammed me down on him, my mouth gaping in a loud cry, while bits of my dream flashed through my head.

“The girl who challenges nature’s laws. Your power calls to you…”

The fae book had come to me, had reached out to me as it had done once before, flashing over images of a cabin, of a fireplace and sofa, of a dark forest outside.

“Fuck. Fuck!” Warwick pounded into me, pinning my spine to the wall, his grip on my hips bruising, but I only wanted more. Harder.
