To my dear friends in Hong Kong—those I met at BA and HKIS. I am so grateful to all of you for your encouragement and support, particularly during the insanity of my debut year. Your friendship means so much to me, and you have touched my life in so many ways.
To the most inspiring teacher I ever had, Puan Vasantha Menon—thank you for instilling in me a love for literature.
It is such a privilege to be part of the incredibly talented #22Debuts, and to have such wonderful agent siblings who helped keep me sane. Also, to Kristen (@myfriendsarefiction), Mike Lasagna, Daniel Bassett, Kelecto (@panediting), Ellie (@faerieontheshelf), CW, Kristin Dwyer, Lauren (@fictiontea)—you are all amazing, and I am grateful for your early support.
Finally, but just as importantly, my endless thanks to the readers, booksellers, librarians, bloggers, bookstagrammers, and the book community for your support of Daughter of the Moon Goddess. And if you are reading this, I am so grateful to you for giving this book a chance, for allowing me to share my story with you. I have loved writing it with all my heart, and I hope you find something to love in it too.
About the Author
SUE LYNN TAN writes fantasy novels inspired by the myths and legends she fell in love with as a child. Born in Malaysia, she studied in London and France, before settling in Hong Kong with her family.
Her love for stories began with a gift from her father, her first compilation of tales from around the world. After devouring every fable she could find in the library, she discovered fantasy books—spending many of her teenage years lost in magical worlds.
When not writing or reading, she enjoys exploring the hills and lakes around her home, the temples, beaches, and narrow winding streets there. She is also grateful to be within reach of bubble tea and spicy food, which she unfortunately cannot cook.
