Enzo focused on me, his smile meeting his eyes this time. “I’m not the only lucky one, by the way. Our babies will be, just like Chiara already is . . . because they have you as a mother.”
Staring deep into his eyes, my heart never so full—and technically I had three heartbeats now—I wet my lips and reminded him, “No, they’re lucky because they have us.” It was my turn to kiss the top of his hand. “And, Enzo, I’m lost without you, too.”
