Before the Sunset (Cottonwood Cove, #4)(97)

Author:Laura Pavlov

“Man, I would have loved to have you decorate my bedroom as a kid.”

“Your mom is so talented. You guys all had the cutest bedrooms growing up. She’s the reason I wanted to be a designer. Remember how I’d go hang out with her when she was redoing rooms or decorating for the holidays?”

“Oh. I thought you were there for me?”

Her smile lit up her entire face, and she nodded. “I was always there for you.”

I pulled down the long driveway and parked in front of the barn before stepping out of the car and coming around to open her door. It wasn’t snowing any longer, and we probably had a few hours of sunlight left before it tucked behind the clouds.

“What do you want to do first?” she asked, tipping her head back as my arms came around her.

“I want to do you first. And then I want to take the horses down to the beach and sit with you before the sun sets.”

“I can work with that,” she said, and I grabbed her behind the knees and flipped her over my shoulder. I jogged toward the house as her laughter filled the air around us.

It was my favorite sound.

And she was my favorite girl.

My only girl.

Always had been. Even before I knew it myself.

I didn’t stop until we were in the bedroom, and I dropped her down onto the bed, her hair spilling all around her. Her green eyes blazed as I unzipped her coat, and she lifted enough for me to pull it off. Next, I bent down and pulled off her cowboy boots before removing every last stitch of clothing from her gorgeous body.

“Get naked,” she said, her voice husky as the corners of her lips turned up.

“Yes, ma’am.” I was stripped down in no time, and I pushed her back on the bed before hovering above her. “How do you want me first?”

“Any way I can have you.”

“Yeah? Well, I want you in every way there is. But right now, I just need to be inside you. I need it like I need my next breath.”

“Me, too,” she whispered, raising her hips and teasing me.

That was all I needed to hear. My mouth crashed into hers, and my cock throbbed at her entrance. My heart was beating so fast, I was certain it would rip from my body.

This need.

This urgency.

I’d never felt it before, and I fucking loved it.

I pushed forward, and her head fell back, and my lips sealed over her nipple.

Fuck me. I’d memorized every inch of these tits, fantasizing about them every single day since I’d been gone. They were a little fuller than I’d remembered, and I couldn’t get enough. I licked and sucked, groaning when she bucked against me, urging me to push all the way in.

I just wanted to savor every fucking second as she clenched around me.

I was buried inside her, and I didn’t move. I pulled back to look at her, pushing her silky hair away from her face. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips parted, and her eyes filled with need.

“I love you. I mean it, Reese. I fucking love you.” My breaths labored as I fought the urge to fuck her senseless and make sure she knew just how much she meant to me.

“I know you do. I see it. I feel it. And I love you just as fiercely.” She gasped when I shifted the slightest bit. “Now, stop talking and have your way with me, Cowboy.”

“Music to my fucking ears.”

I pulled out and drove back into her, over and over. She met me thrust for thrust as we found our rhythm. She tugged my head down so my mouth was sealed over hers. And nothing had ever felt better.

This overwhelming feeling moved through my body, coursing through my veins.

She groaned into my mouth, and I pulled away to look at her. Her back arched off the bed, and I gripped her hips as we moved faster.

Our breaths were the only audible sounds flooding the room.

My hand moved between us, knowing exactly what she needed.

Where she needed me.

My thumb found her clit and applied the slightest bit of pressure, making little circles and watching as her eyes fell closed.

She bucked up against me with a need that I understood, because I felt it deep in my soul.

“Finn,” she cried out as she shattered around me. Just seeing her body shake and tremble had me driving into her one more time before I exploded and followed her right over the edge.

Just like I always would.

We’d come down from our high before looking out the window and realizing we needed to get moving if we wanted to see the sun go down.

We’d bundled up, and I’d tucked my scrapbook that I’d been working on these last few weeks into a backpack and asked him to carry it for me.
