Now for my favorite part of any book, the acknowledgments. I love taking a moment to think back on the writing and editing of a book, what was going on in my life, and who helped me reach the finish line. Getting to THE END is a marathon, and it’s not always easy. But it’s those tougher books that make you that much more grateful for the people in your life.

First, in my writerly world. Sam, I’m so thankful that this writer world brought us together because I honestly don’t know what I’d do without you. Thank you for walking through all the life and authorly things with me. Your friendship is the greatest gift. Rebecca, thank you for helping me figure out just how Roan’s story would play out. I’m pretty sure I sent you hours of voice memos on this one, and I’m incredibly grateful you didn’t block me on your phone. Forever grateful for you! Laura and Willow, thank you for being a constant ear and source of laughter. Your friendship is on my forever list of gratitudes. Elsie, thanks for letting me turn you into a prison pen pal murderer. Little has brought me more joy. But more than that, thanks for always having my back and being the best friend. Amy, thank you for sprinting, reading a million blurbs, and just generally being such a source of light in my world. I’m so lucky to have so many amazing friends in this community. You all know who you are. I’m so thankful to have you in my corner!

Second, in my non-writer world. My STS soul sisters: Hollis, Jael, and Paige, thank you for making me feel like the most supported and celebrated human on this planet. I always feel seen and cherished, thanks to you. Love you to the moon and back.

And to all my family and friends near and far. Thank you for supporting me on this crazy journey, even if you don’t read “kissing books.” But you get extra special bonus points if you picked up one of mine, even if that makes me turn the shade of a tomato when you tell me.
