Carnage Island (Reject Island)(42)

Author:Lexi C. Foss

I smirk. “Blades or bullets?”

“Blades,” he replies without missing a beat. “He’ll suffer.” The promise isn’t just in his words, but his eyes, too. Volt likes to kill. He lives to spill the blood of others. It’s why he’s so good at what he does.

I nod. “Good.” I’ll be claiming a front row seat for that event. Watching Volt kill never gets old.

“You can’t take him out yet,” Tieran reminds him, a note of authority in his voice.

Volt just looks at him.

“I mean it, Volt,” Tieran says. “I know you want to deliver his head to her as a gift, but think about how much more powerful that gift will be if you can avenge her mother, too.”

Volt considers him for a moment. “A box full of rapist dicks topped with an Alpha’s severed head.”

He means that literally.

Something that makes me want to gag, but I can’t help agreeing with the sentiment. “She’ll love it,” I tell him. Or it may terrify her. But she’ll have to accept Volt’s penchant for death and torture eventually.

He’ll never hurt her.

He’ll just kill for her.

Which is exactly what he does for me and Tieran.

It’s also how he contributes financially to our growing empire.

He takes the term enforcer to a whole new level of meaning.

“Let’s try not to scare her too soon,” Tieran cautions.

Volt snorts. “She’s a fighter, T. She even challenged you.”

Tieran’s lips quirk up. “Yeah. She did.” And the heat in his gaze says how much he enjoyed that little show of disobedience.

“She needs to know who we are,” Volt continues, pushing off the door to saunter toward the bed. “And I mean more than just about how we fuck.”

“Well, I think she’ll be learning those traits first,” I drawl, grinning down at our sleeping beauty. She should have already been introduced to my knot, but Volt won our bet earlier, giving him access to her sweet heat before me.

Soon, gorgeous, I think at her, my hand trailing up close to her delicious mound. I don’t actually touch her, just enjoy the warmth coming from her center before sliding my touch back to the center of her thigh. Soon.

Tieran’s studying her, his fingers having shifted from her hair to her face. He leans down to trace his nose along her cheek, his wolf rumbling in his chest. “Her scent isn’t as strong now,” he says, his brow furrowing. “It should be drugging us, but my beast feels calm.”

“Maybe from knotting her already?” I guess. None of us have ever been with an Omega before. We’ve heard stories, witnessed the call back home, and smelled the effects of Omegas in heat. But Tieran’s right—we should be almost out of our minds with lust right now. “Do you think something’s wrong?”

“I think our Omega has mixed genetics and may not do what we expect,” he replies, sitting up again, his gaze still on her. “We’ll continue preparing, but I want to take advantage of this prolonged moment of lucidity to talk to my father.”

Volt settles on the bed, stretching out beside our Omega. “Don’t worry, T. We’ll keep her company in the interim.”

Tieran presses a kiss to her temple before slipping off the bed.

I take his place beside her, sandwiching the female between me and Volt. “Yeah, we’ve got this covered, T,” I echo.

He grins again. “Try not to break her, yeah?”

“Don’t take too long,” I counter, not making any promises.

Because they’re not needed.

This little beauty is a treasure and when she wakes up, she’ll see just how much we intend to worship her.

I wake to a pang in my lower belly, my thighs trembling with an aftershock of pain that elicits a low whimper from my chest.

Ugh. It feels like a tree fell on my head.

Every part of me aches, but especially my insides.

I groan, trying to curl into a ball, only to come up against a hard wall of flesh. I freeze, my heart leaping into my throat.

Warmth washes over me, touching me all the way to my toes.

“Morning, gorgeous,” a deep voice rumbles, fingers combing through my hair. “Well, evening, technically. You’ve slept all day.”

I swallow. Where am I?

Everything feels so hazy.

So unclear.

So… so… unreal.

Because the fantasy unfolding in my mind can’t be accurate.

Tieran forcing me to shift. Followed by a chase. Volt catching me. Both of them… I shiver, the vivid memory of having them inside me making my thighs clench, which stirs another whine from deep within.
