Right. Today’s the day we venture off the island, I remind myself. Volt told me the other morning that Tieran agreed to let me go with them, something that surprised me. I was both nervous and excited about it, a joint sentiment that hasn’t changed.
“Come on, I’ll show you how to navigate the corridor,” he says, leading the way with that towel still wrapped around his waist. I have one as well that I keep on, padding barefoot behind him.
“Umm, what if I can’t?” I ask, voicing a concern I’ve had since initially shifting back into human form. “Or what if she won’t let me shift back again?”
“Then I’ll growl,” he answers, adding a slight rumble to his words. “Tieran’s not the only one who can tame your animal, sweetheart.”
I swallow, because yeah, that sounded like a threat and a promise all wrapped up into a pretty Volt-sized bow.
Making him a present I want to unwrap.
With my teeth.
Just to see if he fulfills the vow in those words.
Yes, I have definitely lost my mind to this need to be knotted, I decide, trying to keep pace with him. But it’s really not my fault, it’s theirs. They’re the ones who introduced me to the pleasure of their knots.
My thighs clench at the memory of it.
The way they dominated me.
The sensation of fullness.
The spiral of delirious sensation.
“Do you want to shift or fuck?” Volt asks, pulling me from my thoughts as he grabs me and pushes me up against the wall. I’ve been mindlessly following him down the corridor. We’re outside the door now in the nature tunnel that leads us up from this underground cavern.
I blink at him, noting his palm around my throat. His opposite hand has a death grip on my hip as he slides his thigh between my legs. “Both,” I tell him.
“I didn’t lick you thoroughly enough in the shower?”
My lower belly spasms with a reminder of the two orgasms he gifted me in the last hour. “I enjoyed that.”
He smiles. “I know you did. But you’re saying you want more, hmm?”
I nod, swallowing. “Yes.”
“How about a deal,” he suggests, his voice lowering as he more fully aligns his body with mine. His thick muscular thigh presses into my core, eliciting a low whine from my throat. Because I’m already wet for him. I’m always wet around these males. It’s something I don’t know how to control and a consequence of my Omega genetics. Well, according to Caius, it’s a benefit not a consequence. But it makes me uncomfortable, especially when they growl.
Like Volt is doing now.
It’s a hungry sound coming from his wolf, one my animal responds to with a whimper of need.
He brushes his lips against mine, the promise in that touch one that makes me melt. But he pulls back to meet my gaze. “Go on a run with me in wolf form for thirty minutes, then shift back, and I’ll make you come until it’s time to leave.”
I shiver, his obsidian gaze glittering with dark intent. “And if I can’t shift back?” I breathe.
“Then I’ll tame your wolf with my growl,” he says. “And afterward, I’ll show you why Caius and Tieran don’t want me to play with knives around you.”
My stomach clenches at the dangerous undertones of that statement.
It’s a part of him I shouldn’t want to meet.
Yet my wolf is eager to take him up on the offer. She wants to indulge in our mate’s darker inclinations, drive him over the edge, and demand he knot us into oblivion.
Over and over again.
With teeth and claws and savage bites.
“Okay,” I whisper, liking this challenge.
He presses his lips to mine again, sealing our deal with a kiss that’s underlined in hazardous need. I moan, seeking his tongue, but he releases me in the next moment and takes my towel with him. “Shift,” he demands.
It’s not a growled command, which means my animal is waiting for me to pull her out rather than being forced out by his Alpha authority.
I swallow and focus on my wolf, inviting her out to play.
She responds almost immediately, taking me to the ground on a sharp gasp, the pain of the transformation stealing the air from my lungs.
But it’s not nearly as bad as when Canton initially drove my shift.
This is me being in charge, me letting my animal free, me choosing to embrace my wolf rather than being coerced into accepting her.
Fur sprouts along my arms and legs, my bones morphing with the magic of my soul. I sigh, letting it take over, and in what feels like seconds, I’m a wolf. I shake out my coat, feeling miraculously in charge.
