“I can’t just date my daughter’s twenty-two-year-old best friend because she’s good in bed.”
Cassie had fled down the hall to the bathroom and closed the door as quietly as she could.
It shouldn’t have been a big deal. She’d told herself that then and was still telling herself now, two days later. It wasn’t a big deal. She’d said the same thing to Acacia countless times, because they weren’t dating. But Cassie’s chest had tightened at the disdain in Erin’s voice. Did Cassie sound like that whenever she told Acacia? Erin had sounded so scornful. Cassie hated it.
She resolved to be nicer to Kaysh about the whole thing. She’d get the chance, too—Acacia was visiting for the Fourth of July, flying in Saturday morning for a long weekend.
Cassie just had to make it through the week first. It was only Monday and she already wanted to be done.
Cassie [Today 7:07 PM]
Finally done at work
She included every tired-looking emoji she could find.
Erin [7:08 PM]
There’s a surprise at your apartment to make the day better
Cassie [7:08 PM]
What
Cassie [7:08 PM]
What is it?
Erin [7:09 PM]
I know you’re not an English major, but surely you know the meaning of the word surprise?
Erin [7:09 PM]
Ride safely, even though you’re excited
Cassie rode safely, if a little quickly. Erin didn’t give her any hints. There was nothing in her mailbox or in front of her door, like she expected.
She got inside and everything looked completely normal, though honestly cleaner than she remembered it being.
Cassie [7:29 PM]
???
Erin [7:29 PM]
Check the bedroom
Erin was in the middle of the bed, on top of the blankets, completely naked. The sight froze Cassie at the door. Erin grinned.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
Cassie just looked at her for a moment. Erin preened a little, as if she liked that Cassie couldn’t stop staring. She was so fucking hot, was all, and Cassie didn’t know how she got so lucky. She didn’t know what she wanted to touch first. She thought of what she’d heard Erin say to Rachel and her stomach clenched. She thought, I’ll show you good in bed.
“Don’t move,” she said, and Erin smirked at her.
The mattress dipped as Cassie sat beside her on the bed.
“I might have gotten started without you,” Erin said, sounding more proud than ashamed.
She spread her legs a little, and Cassie could see how wet she was already.
“I told you not to move,” Cassie said, her voice low. Erin’s smirk faltered.
“You were later than I expected,” Erin kept talking, but she wasn’t moving anymore.
“And you couldn’t wait?” Cassie asked. She ran a hand up one of Erin’s calves.
Erin’s eyes slipped closed. “I didn’t think you’d mind.”
Cassie didn’t, really. The thought of Erin naked in her bed, touching herself, alone in Cassie’s apartment—Cassie didn’t mind at all. She traced her fingertips over the inside of Erin’s knee; she knew Erin was ticklish there. Erin clenched her jaw and didn’t react. Cassie rewarded her by swiping three fingers through her wetness.
Erin reacted then, hips coming up off the bed chasing Cassie’s touch. Erin reached one hand toward her own hair—it made it halfway there before she suddenly put it back at her side, clutching at the sheets like she’d remembered she wasn’t supposed to move.
“Good girl,” Cassie said, and Erin’s eyes flew open.
Cassie held eye contact as she slid her fingers next to Erin’s clit. Erin stuttered over her breath but didn’t look away, didn’t move.
“I want to touch you,” she said.
Cassie rubbed at her clit.
“I could make you feel good,” Erin said, the words not quite coming easily. “You’ve had a long day.”
“How long have you been here?” Cassie said.
“A while.”
Cassie stopped touching her.
“Two hours,” Erin said immediately.
Cassie stroked her again and Erin let out her breath.
“You’ve been naked in my bed for two hours?”
Erin shook her head. “When I realized you’d be later than I thought—” She gasped as Cassie’s fingers rubbed a fast circle around her clit. “I did a load of laundry. Clean sheets.”
God, this woman was too much. Cassie worked two fingers inside her and she moaned.
“I want to touch you,” Erin said again. “I know you had a long day. I thought I’d do all the work. Let you relax.”
