Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife (The Harder They Fall, #2)(58)

Author:Julia Wolf

Her forehead rolled against mine. “I missed you.”

“Good god, did I miss you.”

“Maybe you weren’t so off base trying to give me Miller’s office.”

I groaned again, but it wasn’t from pleasure. “Never say his name again while I’m inside you.”

She laughed, which made her clench around me. “Sorry, babe. I just meant I hate not seeing you during the day. You got me used to having you.”

My mouth covered hers again. It was impossible to stay away. Cupping her breasts, I twisted her nipples between my fingers. She whimpered, and I swallowed it down.

“Luca,” she panted. “You feel so good.”

“You feel like the best dream, pretty girl.” I slid my hands to her hips and pressed her down on me. “You have to go harder. Ride me like you missed me.”

“I told you I did.” She reached over me, gripping the top of the headboard for leverage. “You can have me any time you want, you know. I’m yours.”

But we both knew that wasn’t true. Everything I had with her was borrowed. What she gave me of herself would be taken back in the end.

The thought sent a wave of anger over me. I slammed her down on my cock and raised my hips. One hand slapped down on my shoulder, nails digging into me as she gasped and moaned.

“Yes, Luca, yes. I need it like that.”

My hand came down on her ass. “You’ll get it how I give it to you.”

Her nails raked up the side of my neck. “Don’t be mean. I want my sweet Luca as you pound my pussy.”

“Filthy little mouth.” I nipped at her bottom lip. “Driving me crazy.”

She moaned and ground down on me, taking me deep and keeping me there. “I played with myself last night. I leaned against the wall between our rooms so I could be close to you when I came.”

It took all my willpower not to squeeze my eyes shut. This woman was going to be the end of me. “I thought I heard you moaning.”

“I bet you did. I didn’t hide it. I wanted you to burst in and watch me like you did before.”

“Fuck, Saoirse.” I thrust into her from below, spearing my cock into her wet heat over and over.

Her little ass slapped against me, her wild eyes locked with mine. We worked each other, taking out the weeklong frustration with nails and teeth and tongues. But it was more than just fucking, and it had been for a long time. This was a release of the feelings we didn’t say. A chance to be close that wasn’t allowed in any other way.

It would be over in no time.

And I’d want it all over again.

I wanted more than this.

Everything might have been enough.

But I’d have to settle for this. Her body being mine. Her eyes on me. My name on her lips. My seed coating her. My claim on Saoirse might have been temporary, but it was powerful. She was mine, and I was so fucking hers, I couldn’t see straight.

“I’m going to come.” As if I couldn’t already feel her swelling and pulsing.

“I know your body, pretty girl. I’m ready for you.”

She took me as far as she could and rocked against me, her clit hitting my pelvis. Her head lolled back, giving me the opening I needed to suck her throat and bite down on the crook of her neck.

I waited for her to begin the fall before I allowed myself to let go and join her. Arms wrapped around slick bodies, we embraced, holding on as powerful shudders traveled from her body to mine. Air was in short supply, so we shared it, heaving lungfuls at each other. Hot and thready, passing back and forth.

Minutes passed, breathing became somewhat normal, and I found myself flat on my back with Saoirse sprawled on top of me.

“Clem sat in her window sling this morning,” Saoirse said.

I raised my head. “She did? Did you take a picture?”

“Of course I did.” She rolled to the side to grab her phone from the nightstand and turned it on to show me the screen.

Our cat. I couldn’t deny Clementine was as much mine as Saoirse’s. She was Velcro, either attached to me or her. She wasn’t a cat who needed space.

I’d bought her a sling that attached to the windows in the living room, thinking she’d like to look out at the city. So far, she’d only sat in it for a second or two before frantically meowing like we were lighting her tail on fire.

But there she was on Saoirse’s phone, relaxed and regal, like the princess she was, curled up in the sling, her tail lazily hanging off the side.

“How long did she stay there?” I asked.

“An hour. She fell asleep there. I think she would have stayed longer, but Miles started singing ‘Mo Money Mo Problems,’ and she woke up.”

Turning the screen off, I tossed the phone aside. “Miles saw her in the sling?”

“Yeah.” She trailed her fingers along my chest. “Are you jealous?”

“Territorial. He shouldn’t get to see my cat in the sling I bought her before I do.”

“I told him to close his eyes.”

“Good.”

She snorted. “I was kidding about that. At least you’ll be happy to know Clem still doesn’t like him.”

“Did she scratch him?”

“No. How could you think she’d ever do something that violent? She just gives him the cold shoulder and swishes her tail at him.”

“As she should.”

Saoirse patted my chest then dropped a kiss over my heart. “She knows who her Daddy is.”

I grunted. “Don’t patronize me.”

“I would never.” She kissed me again. “Now, tell me about the dinner you’re taking me to tonight. Who am I impressing?”

I rolled so I was on top of her, spreading her legs to fit myself between them. Our noses were tip to tip, and I dragged mine along hers.

“The only one you have to impress is me, and that’s a given.”

Her smile was white lightning up close. “I like you so much, Luca.”

“Then put your lips on me and show me.”

Chapter Thirtyfour

Saoirse

Clem wove between my feet as I walked. When we got her two months ago, this maneuver of hers nearly sent me sprawling. But we’d worked out a system—she did what she wanted, and I learned to adapt.

Luca walked through the front door just as I passed the entry. Clem immediately detached from me to attach to him.

“Hello, you.”

“Hey, pretty girl.”

He picked Clem up and crossed to me, dropping a quick kiss to my cheek, even though I was aching for so much more. Luca was steadfast in his determination to keep our physical interactions outside of our home, and I hated it with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

I constantly missed him, even when he was right in front of me.

It was like having half of him.

Not that I was a sex fiend. It was more that I was a Luca fiend. I would have settled for a cuddle, but he wouldn’t even give me that.

I played off my disappointment, arching a brow. “Are you talking to me or the cat?”

He kissed the top of Clem’s head. “You’re my pretty girl. Clementine is my princess.”

I leaned into the two of them, stealing a little bit of contact. “As it should be. By the way, Clara’s spending the night.”
